In 2022, Viatris partnered with the Endocrine Society to support the EndoCares® program, a global outreach initiative aimed at improving access to diagnosis and care for endocrine-related conditions. By bringing together industry, nonprofits, and local health care providers, the program looks to improve access to care and reduce the impact of healthcare disparities on underserved communities. Last year, the EndoCares® program focused on diabetes, obesity, and hypertension. To help with these conditions, the goals of the program included the following:
- Improve access to high quality endocrine care and wellness
- Raise awareness of endocrine-related health conditions and diseases, as well as complementary treatment facilities and long-term care options
- Empower individuals to advocate for themselves and their family by providing continued care opportunities throughout local healthcare systems
- Tackle health disparities by incorporating a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) lens to the planning and facilitation of each event, with a keen focus on addressing challenges specific to local populations
In Atlanta, Baltimore, Seattle, and Phoenix, the Society partnered with over 500 healthcare providers and volunteers and over 65 local organizations to hold medical screenings, vaccinations, and medical care to reach patients in underserved communities. Viatris supported EndoCares with a far-reaching digital hub with multilingual education resources for patients and caregivers on endocrine-related conditions. We are grateful to be partners with Endocrine Society and encourage you to read more about their patient engagement and program reach in their 2022 EndoCares Outcomes Report. Programs like EndoCares® are one of many ways Viatris is working to empower people worldwide to live healthier at every stage of life.
