Earlier this year, colleagues around the world came together for a Global Day of Service as part of Viatris’ Building Healthier Communities initiative. This day is a reflection of our shared desire to give back and commitment to build healthier communities around the world.
In Washington, DC, we partnered with the Salvation Army National Capital Area Command to serve families in crisis living throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The Salvation Army serves individuals and families in crisis by meeting human needs with compassion and without discrimination. Each year, it serves over 100,000 people, helping them to overcome poverty, houselessness, and hardship while building pathways to stability and self-sufficiency.
With the support of Goodera, an organization dedicated to coordinating and facilitating built-for-impact experiences with corporate partners, our colleagues worked collaboratively to construct 2-in-1 solar lamps and power banks. These solar lamps provide underserved individuals with access to a sustainable source of energy and support in the form of a consistent and reliable source of light during times of need.
Both in DC and around the globe, these activities are grounded in a shared purpose: to unite, give back and make a meaningful difference in our communities that goes beyond the medicines we provide.
