At Viatris, we support the nearly 40,000 adults and children in the U.S. living with cystic fibrosis (CF) during Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month in May and year-round. This support stems from our core mission of empowering people worldwide to live healthier at every stage of life by expanding access to important treatments. While no cure currently exists, treatments and medications can help manage CF symptoms. By leveraging our capabilities and improving access to effective treatments, Viatris helps people get the medications they need, regardless of geography or circumstance.
While our extensive portfolio provides access to medicines most commonly used by people with cystic fibrosis, our engagement with the CF community goes beyond the treatments we provide. Our ultimate goal as a committed partner to the CF community is to make a real difference in the lives of people living with the condition and those who support them. And for years, Viatris has shown up for them within policy discussions and through our work with advocacy organizations.
Over the years, Viatris has been a partner and supporter of the tireless and important work of nearly a dozen CF advocacy organizations including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Boomer Esiason Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Research Institute (CFRI), Emily's Entourage, the Bonnell Foundation, Claire’s Place, the Cystic Fibrosis Lifestyle Foundation (CFLF), the Take A Breather Foundation, the Rock CF Foundation and others.
Here are a few of our proudest moments over the past year of partnering with the CF advocacy community:
- Viatris was recognized and honored with a national corporate sponsorship award from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for our leadership in the CF Community. We were also recognized for the contributions, authentic leadership and for continuing to create access to products the global community relies on.
- Viatris proudly sponsors numerous events hosted by foundations across the nation.
- Viatris is honored to support the Bowman Brothers Scholarship program created to provide trade school scholarships to the many CF patients who never went to college due to a deterioration in their health. Meeting patients’ educational needs is an important step in their journey to enter the workforce.
We will continue to work shoulder-to-shoulder with our partners in the CF community and strive to go above and beyond in tailoring our treatment portfolio to better meet the needs of patients and help them along their care journey.
